Easy, gluten free cookie popcorn balls make the ultimate movie night snack!

Movie Night
Who doesn’t love movie night? While going to the movies is fun, I love staying home, making snacks, and cuddling everyone up on the couch. Plus, when I do movie night at home I can make sure that all the snacks are gluten free!
We love popcorn and love cookies, so I thought why not bring them together! Popcorn balls have always been a childhood favorite and they are the perfect movie night snack. Just the right combo of sweet and salty.
Fudge Striped Deliciousness
When I was a kid I loved the cookies with a hole in the middle. I would put them on my finger and eat around them. Now my fingers are to big, and since being diagnosed with Celiac, I hadn’t found a similar cookie- until now.
Goodie Girl just came out with a fudge striped gluten free cookie and it’s amazing. It’s the cookie part of these cookie popcorn balls. It adds a chocolaty cookie crunch.
Right now they are only available at Walmart and online, if you see them be sure to grab a pack (HERE is a coupon!)- my gluten eating husband killed a whole package! Not only are they gluten free, but they are also peanut free and this flavor of Goodie Girl Cookies is also egg free.
Cookie Popcorn Balls
These are so easy to make, you are going to wonder why you never thought to do this before!
Start with the cookies and crush them all up. Then melt some butter and add marshmallows. I know- normally you would heat some sugar and measure with a candy thermometer, but I opted for a much easier method. Marshmallows work perfectly! Then just toss together the melted marshmallows, popcorn, and cookies. Make sure your handsĀ are greased before you shape it into balls.
I made this video to show just how easy it is. It honestly takes less than 15 minutes to throw this snack together.
Your next movie night isn’t complete without these cookie popcorn balls. They are also perfect for school bake sales, lunch box snacks, or just for whenever. Wrap them up in plastic wrap for a quick snack later.
By the way- Goodie Girl is also giving away an awesome WonderWoman movie pack this month. I’d love if one of my readers one- be sure to go enter HERE. It was an amazing movie. I wasn’t sure I would be into it, but I was hooked!
So tell me- What is your go to movie snack?
