Sweet and Salty

I love popcorn. It’s no secret around my house. I often have a bunch of bags on hand for when I’m craving something salty. I’ll be honest. I know stove popped is better, but it is something extra to clean and I often just don’t have time. Microwave popcorn is just so easy.

I did try the paper bag popping trick. It worked ok, but the kernels didn’t pop well. I also tried this way that you put it in a bowl with a plate on top of it (saw it in a youtube video). My result was not the same as theirs. The plate actually exploded. At that point, I gave up microwave hacks.

Now I either make it on the stove when I have time to clean or use microwave popcorn…..Except when I’m making something like white chocolate popcorn, or this pumpkin spice caramel corn (you can find the recipe HERE!). When I am making treats with popcorn, I like to buy the bags already popped. Why? The kernels always seem much fluffier and the kernels are evenly popped.

White Chocolate Popcorn

If you use my trick to perfectly popped popcorn (i.e.- buy it that way!), then this white chocolate popcorn is put together in minutes. You then have the choice of letting it dry or just digging in.

Obviously, if you are going to give it away, you will want to let it dry some. I like to add some sprinkles to make it more festive. The pastel colors are perfect for Easter. Sprinkles are a great way to give a simple recipe a holiday feel.

Easter Treats

Full disclosure- I actually made this today because I had these cute Easter goodie bags I wanted to use, and I was short on time. The white chocolate popcorn was perfect to fill them. No one can resist a sweet and salty handful of this popcorn goodness!

Let me leave you with one last note. This recipe is easy, only two ingredients. However, be careful with the white chocolate and read ingredient labels. Even within the same brand, different products may have different allergens. When dealing with celiac and allergies, read the labels carefully.
