Ginger Garlic Compound Butter over New York Strip Steak

Ingredients

Ginger Garlic Compound Butter

  • 1 stick softened butter
  • 2 gloves garlic grated
  • 1/2-3/4 inch piece of peeled ginger grated
  • 1 scallion minced
  • salt and pepper taste

Steak

  • 2 New York Strip Steaks
  • Kosher Salt
  • Fresh Ground Pepper

Instructions

Ginger Garlic Compound Butter

  • Mix together softened butter, garlic, ginger, and scallion.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place on plastic wrap and roll into a log.
  • Place in freezer until ready to serve.

Steak

  • Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees
  • Salt and Pepper both Steaks.
  • Allow to come to room temperature
  • In Cast Iron Pan, heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium high heat
  • Place steaks in pan, allow to cook 3-4 minutes to form a nice crust.
  • Flip and place immediately in oven.
  • Continue cooking 4-7 minutes or till desired doneness.

Notes

The butter by itself is a bit strong in flavor, but it is perfect as it melts over the steak!
