Harry’s Wood Oven Fired Chicken Wings
Harry’s Pizzeria
Located in the heart of Coconut Grove, Harry’s offers fine dining in the laid back atmosphere. Don’t let the casual vibe fool you, the food is out of this world. Family friendly, they offer something for everyone.
Finding restaurants that offer gluten free options can be daunting. Luckily, Harry’s Pizzeria in Coconut Grove is more than capable of handling those who require a gluten free diet. I was lucky enough to visit Harry’s last Sunday and I was beyond impressed with the food, the service, and the understanding of the what it means to be gluten free.
The Meal
Harry’s has gluten free options for appetizers, salads, entrees, and a dessert.
For an appetizer I chose the Wood Oven Fired Wings. It has been so long since I had wings, and these did not disappoint. Coated in a spicy agrodolce glaze, they had just the right amount of heat and tang to keep you going back for more. I would go to Harry’s just for these wings. The rosemary dipping sauce mellowed out the heat and complimented the flavor nicely. I was very impressed that the server knew all of the ingredients and was able to confirm for me that they were in fact gluten free. When you go to Harry’s you must order the wings…maybe even two orders, they are that good.
The entrees was Sunday’s Special- Lamb Merguez. I’ll be honest, when I ordered it, I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it was phenomenal. The curried lentils with lamb had a complex flavor profile, reminiscent of Indian food. Yogurt sauce provided a bit of creaminess and the cucumbers offered a nice textural contrast. It was a great dish. I would order it again.
Dessert was a Panna Cotta with a rasberry compote and chopped almonds. The panna cotta was sweet and creamy, the raspberry compote slightly tangy and the almonds nice and crunchy. A light and refreshing end to a delicious lunch.

Harry’s also offers Polenta Fries (shared fryer) and gluten free pizza (shared preparation area with regular pizza dough) that while unsafe for someone on a medically required gluten free diet, if you are gluten free by choice, or not concerned with cross contamination, I have heard they are both amazing.
The menu at Harry’s does change seasonally and ingredients can change at any time so be sure to talk to your server or the manager, let them know if you have Celiac or gluten sensitivity, and confirm that what you are ordering is gluten free before placing your order.
I loved my experience at Harry’s. Next time I go, I will definitely order the wings again, and depending on the day, I hope to try another one of their great entrees! If you are in Coconut Grove (or they also have a location in the Design District), stop by Harry’s Pizzeria and tell them that My Gluten Free Miami sent you!
