Combine apples, 4 Tablespoons butter, 1/3 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt in a saucepan.
Stir over medium heat until butter is melted.
Cook for 5 minutes over medium low heat.
Divide into 4 ounce canning jars or small dishes.
Combine cookies, 2 Tablespoons melted butter and 2 Tablespoons brown sugar in food processor until just combined.
Divide between jars.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
