Gluten Free Steak Sandwich with Chimichurri Sauce

Summer Grilling

Summer is a great time for grilling and these steak sandwiches with fresh chimichurri need to be on the menu!

This fresh chimichurri is a blend of cilantro and parsley and has the perfect amount of acidity from red wine vinegar. With just a touch of red pepper flakes, it isn’t spicy, but has a great depth of flavor.

Pair it with well-seasoned skirt steak on top of a Three Baker’s Hoagie Roll and it is sure to be a hit!

Three Baker’s Hoagie Roll

Three Baker’s Hoagie Rolls, are soft, and hold up well to a sauce. No falling apart here. Even my non-gf 5 year old was a huge fan of their bread. If you have been missing sub sandwiches, these rolls are the way to go.

Currently, Three Baker’s has online ordering available on their website: Three Baker’s Hoagie Rolls.

Chimichurri Sauce

I love chimichurri. It’s so good on steak or chicken and it is really simple to make.

Now some chimichurri sauces only use parsley, but we are huge fans of cilantro, and I love to use half and half.

An important tip in making this sauce, is to be sure to use a food processor or blender and pulse it, don’t use a nutribullet. It will purree it and you will end up with a green smoothie like substance. It may work as a dressing, but it isn’t going to be great as a chimichurri.

If steak isn’t your thing, you could try a meatloaf sandwich. This Turkey Meatloaf recipe from Healthy Seasonal Recipes would be great on these rolls! Just be sure to use gluten free bread crumbs! Looking for the perfect crunchy side? This Iceberg Lettuce Salad from Cooktoria will pair perfectly!

If you grill your steak, try this Grilled Zucchini from Healthy Seasonal Recipes as well. It will make a great side!
