Gluten Free Valentine’s Day Party
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and that means sweet treats for all! I’ll be honest, Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday, I’ve had one too many valentine’s day recipe fails. The problem is, I always wait until the actual day to try out a recipe.
Not this year. This year we celebrated Valentine’s Day early, so I could test out all my yummy treats! It was a mini Valentine’s Day Party and my neighbors got to taste all the treats we made.
This party had a mini fondue bar, homemade chocolates, chocolate covered pretzels, popcorn bars and white chocolate dipped gluten free chocolate cream cookies.
One of our favorite parts of our party was the mini fondue bar. Strawberries are in season for us right now, so they were perfectly ripe to be dipped in chocolate. No one can deny marshmallows in chocolate either! I got the mini fondue pot after valentine’s day last year (it’s the best time to buy fun party items- right after the holiday! You can still get them on Amazon for under $10.00)
It was dessert heaven.
Typical store-bought valentine’s treats can be difficult when your gluten free. While there are a few great candies out there. I prefer to make my own, so I can control the ingredients.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll share how to make all these treats, but today let’s talk chocolate dipped pretzels!
Gluten Free Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
I love them. The salty sweet is so addicting, and they are easy to make. Luckily gluten free pretzels are easy to find nowadays.
Melting chocolate is simple, but needs to be done slowly. The microwave works well for this. I melt it for a minute and then in 30-second intervals until it is completely melted.
If you give it a minute to cool before you start dipping, then the kids can join in on dipping the pretzels. My daughter had a great time dipping pretzels in chocolate.
Package them up in little bags to pass out to teachers and friends for gifts! It’s the perfect gluten free valentine’s day.
